Abstract
From 1 may 1993 to 31 march 1994, 255 renal and uretheral calculi were trated by shock wave lithotripsy with the second generation l ithotripter, MODULITH SL-20 STORZ MEDICAL. 210 pacients were evaluated. Multiple sessions (u=1-5) were necessary according to the size of the stone. The mean hospital stay for complet treatment was 8,6 days. There was 9 (4,28%) stagharn calculi. Double J stenting was used for all the patients with calculi of >20 mm (13,33%). ln most of the cases anestesia wasn’t necessary. After 3 month, the succes rate (stone free or residual small fragments of <4mm) is 90,7%. Three severe complications were observed: the stein stresse, the acut infected hidronefrosis without sepsis and the subcapsular hematoma. ln 8 cases open surgery was necessary and in 7 cases an endoscopic procedure was performed.
