Abstract
One of the most frequent clinical symptom of the larynx pathology is dysphonia. It can manifest by hoarseness, aphonia, diplophonia, phonastenia and it consists in any abnormality of the voice function or limitation of the vocal cord function. However, there are many different causes that can lead to dysphonia, ranging from simple inflammatory disorders to neurological or neoplastic ones. When noticed, dysphonia is usually associated with dysphagia, sore throat, persistent earache, hemoptysis, weight loss or loss of appetite which may indicate a neoplastic disease; it should always be considered as a warning sign by the patient.
