Use of artificial intelligence and automated tools
Authors must disclose, in a dedicated statement, any use of generative artificial-intelligence (AI) tools or large language models in preparing the manuscript beyond basic language correction, editing and formatting, naming the tool, its version and the purpose. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality and integrity of all content, including references, and must verify all AI-assisted output. AI tools cannot be listed as authors and cannot be cited as sources. AI-generated or AI-altered images and figures are not permitted unless they are the object of the research and are clearly labelled. Reviewers and editors must not upload manuscripts or reviews to generative AI tools and must not use such tools to write their assessments; limited use for language editing of a reviewer’s own text is acceptable if disclosed to the editor. The journal uses automated tools for similarity checking and reference validation; all automated flags are verified by an editor before any action is taken.
Corrections, retractions and expressions of concern
TPCT follows the Retraction Guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). A Correction (erratum or corrigendum) is published for errors that do not invalidate the findings; it is linked to the article and carries its own DOI. A Retraction is published when findings are unreliable because of misconduct or honest error, when the work is redundant or plagiarised, when authorship was misattributed, or when research was unethical; the retraction notice states who is retracting and why, is linked bidirectionally to the article, and the original article stays online with a “Retracted” watermark. An Expression of Concern is published when an investigation is under way or inconclusive. Articles are removed only for legal reasons and then replaced by a notice. Requests for correction are sent to office@therapeutics.ro.
Complaints and appeals
Authors may appeal an editorial decision once, within 30 days, by writing to the Editor-in-Chief with a point-by-point rebuttal; appeals based on new data are treated as new submissions. Appeals are assessed by an editor not involved in the original decision, and the outcome, given within 30 days, is final. Complaints about the conduct of editors, reviewers, the peer-review process or the publisher are sent to office@therapeutics.ro and acknowledged within 5 working days; complaints about the Editor-in-Chief are addressed to the President of the Romanian Society of Pharmacology. All complaints are handled confidentially under COPE guidance and the complainant is informed of the outcome. Unresolved cases may be referred to COPE.
Advertising and sponsorship
Advertising is accepted only for products and services relevant to the readership; it is clearly labelled as advertising, placed separately from editorial content, never linked to a specific article and has no influence on editorial decisions. Advertisements for prescription medicines must comply with Romanian and European Union law. Advertisers and sponsors have no access to manuscripts and no role in editorial decisions. Sponsored supplements are subject to the same peer review as regular content and identify the sponsor on every page.
Data sharing
TPCT encourages authors to make the data underlying their articles available in a public repository (for example Zenodo, Figshare, Dryad or a disciplinary repository) and to cite the dataset with its DOI. Every article carries an Availability of data and materials statement indicating where the data can be found or why they cannot be shared (for example patient privacy or legal restrictions). Clinical trial reports include a data-sharing statement as required by the ICMJE. Editors and reviewers may request access to underlying data during review.
Consent to publish case reports and identifiable material
Case reports, case series and any article containing potentially identifiable details, images, videos or genetic information require written informed consent to publish from the patient or, where the patient is deceased, a minor or lacks capacity, from the next of kin or legal representative. The journal’s consent form (in English and Romanian) is available from the editorial office and will be downloadable from this page; the signed form must be retained by the authors and provided to the journal on request; the article must state that consent was obtained. Authors must anonymise all details not essential to the scientific message; anonymisation alone does not replace consent when the patient could still recognise themselves. Reviewers of case reports follow the journal’s case-report checklist, and authors follow the CARE reporting guideline.
Publication dates and issue labelling
Each issue page states its actual online publication date. Articles display their received, accepted and first-published dates. An issue-period label is not a substitute for the date on which content became publicly available, and dates are never adjusted to fit a schedule.
Privacy
Personal data of authors, reviewers and editors are processed only for the purposes of manuscript handling, publication and journal communication, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the journal’s Privacy Policy.
