Abstract
Forlax, developed by the Beaufour IPSEN Laboratories, belongs to a new class of osmotic laxative agents. Its active principle, macrogol 4000, increases the water content of the stools and therefore their volume; this facilitates peristaltis, improves the consistency of the feces which will ease their passage and their discharge. Clinical studies also confirmed the excellent tolerance of Forlax at the dosage of 1-2 sachets per day.
