Abstract
During last years, the Gram-negative bacili were more and more involved in infectious endocarditis in patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery. Blood cultures prevealed from 10 patients were positive for Pseudomonas, Enterobacter and Alcaligenes spp., germs with a high resistance in most of antibacterial agents. Among the available drugs, just lmipenem, Amikacin and Ciprofloxacin or Pefloxacin were effective.
