Abstract
There are analysed the results obtained on a group consists of 10 pacients, treated with Ceftriaxone (Lendacin), in perfusions, in doses between 1 – 4 g/day, for 5 – 16 days, in the period between navember ‘97 – march ‘98, in Clinical Department of Infectious Diseases, Constanţa. The evolution was favorable in the majority of the cases, 7 pacients were cured when they left the hospital, one was ameliorated and 2 died, because they came very late. The results obtained show the efficiency of the treatment with Ceftriaxone, the third generation of cephalosporins being preferable in the treatment of bacterial meningitis, avoiding the resistence (registered sometimes on Penicillin), with the advantages of commodious administration and the larger spectrum than the other antibiotics used before (the classical therapy).
