Abstract

Among the goals of acute pharyngitis treatment, one the most frequent diseases in children, is the improve of treatment of clinical manifestations. Acute pharyngitis is a self-limited disease, so medication is not mandatory for cure. Simple analgesics (paracetamol) and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (ibuprofen, etc.) are used in acute pharyngitis for relieving (pharyngeal) pain and fever reduction. Systemic corticosteroid administration can cause an improvement in odynophagia intensity and taster relief of pain in acute pharyngitis. Local therapy is frequently used but less studied, only a few studies existing for flurbiprofen, ketoprofen, benzydamine and fusafungine.
