Abstract
The glycopeptides are macromolecular antibiotics whose antibiotic effect is exclusively on grampositive organisms. The group includes Vancomicin and Teicoplanin. The recently developed compound, daptomycin, is a peptolide antibiotic and chemically related glycopeptides.
