Abstract
Abusive treatments with antibiotics determine two alarming phenomena: the emergence of antibiotic – resistant bacteria, and the increase of side-effects with the result of new post – antibiotic Iatrogenic Diseases. The paper presents the most frequent errors in Antibiotic Therapy structured in 7 parts: Lack of clinical diagnosis, Misinterpretation or absence of laboratory data, Unjustified prescribing, Incorrect choice of the antibiotics or of combinations of antibiotics, Mistakes in the management of therapy, Use of antibiotic in chemoprophylaxis, Errors in the route of administration. Knowing these errors and the rationals use of antibiotics will decrease both the frequency of multiply resistant pathogens and the incidence of side-effects.
