Abstract
In osteoporosis treatment, calcitonine (Miacalcic) – a basic endogenous hormone – is a important element. Among calcitonins, the most active is salmon calcitonine (Miacalcic – synthetized in 1969 at Sandoz Pharma. Basel Switzerland in cooperation with Harrold Copp – British Columbia University – Canada) Miacalcic pharmacological effect consists in its antagonic activity on specific osteoclasts receptors with decrease of osteoclasts motility, normalisation of bone resorptin and synthesis.
