Abstract
Clinical experience of ORL Clinic no.1 Craiova regarding the treatment with Oropivalone in postirradiation pharyngytis. Irradiation of superior airway was performed for neoplasic tumors of ORL organs and the irradiation doses were high. The postirradiation lesions taken into account are radioepithelytis of the pharyngeal mucosae and radiomucosytis. Oropivalone was the sole treatment used for these lesions, its composition being: tixocortole pivalate and bacitracine. The surveyed parameters were both subjective and objective and the results were positive in what concerns most of them. The most prominent effect was observed on pharyngeal pain and dysphagia. The systemic effects of tixocortole pivalate were absent and no other side-effects were observed.
