Abstract

Angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, by modulating the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone (RAA) sistem, are effective in controlling blood presure. They have beneficial effects on the structure and function of the heart and vascular system, and can significantly diminish the risk of cardiovascular events in patients with myocardial infarction and coronary artery disease. Gopten has a high affinity for ACE, and the resultant complex has a low dissociation rate, leading to a prolonged duration of effect.
