Abstract
The choice of antibiotherapy in urinary tract infections varies with the site, the evolution, onset and etiology of the infection as well as with age, sex, pregnancy, diabetes or renal failure. The principles of treatment in acute cystitis in female, or during pregnancy, urinary tract infection in children, males and aged patients, recurrent infections, acute, chronic and lithiasic pyelonephritis, ,,urological” infections are presented. The major antibacterial substances used in urinary tract infections are presented mainly from the point of view of their dosage, rhythm of administration, duration of treatment, intensity of action, renal and systemic toxicity.
