Abstract

The successful treatment of oesophageal varices can be achieved by utilising endoscopic sclerotherapy with Ethanolamine oleate. This is a method which significantly the bleeding risk for the patients who are suffering of oesophageal varices. The treatment offers some advantages comparing with other treatment methods from practical point of view and related with the sclerosant agent. Here, we present some data concerning Ethanolamine oleate, it’s way of administration, the evolution of sclerosing process, advantages, precautions, side effects and also other indications of this treatment method.
