Abstract
The present work defines some original notions such as cortisolotoxicosis, its etiopathogenic forms – with or without adrenal hyperfunction, ACTH-dependent or not. lt critically discusses the categories of drugs inducing normalization of cortisolemia, e.g., inhibitors of adrenal steroidogenesis (Op’DDD, aminoglutethimide, methyrapon, ketoconasole), ACTH-releasing neuromodulators (serotonin antagonists – cyproheptadine, dopamin agonists – bromocriptine, GABA agonists – natrium valproate), cortisolic receptor blockers – miphepriston). The study also proposes certain therapeutic schedules suitable in the various forms of cortisolotoxicosis, bringing arguments for their single or combined administration. The comment of the results induced by various chemical therapeutic devices joind the literature data with the authors wide experience in the field. Key words: cortisolotoxicosis, feed-back, steroidogenesis, P-450 cytochrome, cytolytic effect, Cushing’s syndrome.
