ACTUALITĂȚI ÎN PROFILAXIA INFECȚIILOR DETERMINATE DE HERPESVIRUSURI CU FOCAR DE LATENȚĂ NEURAL

Abstract

Although the possibility to prevent the infections with herpes viruses was classicaly denied, in the last time real progress was made for VZV and HSV. For the pregnant women with genital infection with HSV caesarian section is recomanded and/or daily administration of Acyclovir (1200 mg/day) from the 36 week of pregnancy. The prevention of varicella is made with specific immunoglobulines and vaccines; acyclovir can be an alternate regimen for selected cases. The optimal regimen, the indication of prophylaxis and its duration are discussed.
