Abstract
There were studied 643 difusimetric antibiograms, processed during 1997, in which there were used tetracyclin disks (T). Of all bacterian strains, 53% were T-resistant (T R), 21% were sensitive (S) and all the rest were intermediate sensitive (IS). The bacteria with the highest resistance rate was Proteus mirabilis (87,5%), while Salmonella spp. had the lowest rate (15,7%). Over 50% of coproculture isolated bacterial strains were T-R, and 30% were IS. 40% of pharyngeal exudate isolated bacterial strains were T-R. 63% of various purulent secretions isolated strains were T-R. 53% of sputum isolated bacterial strains were T-R. In conclusion, indications of T therapy in bacterial infections have to be restrained and an antibiogram is indispensable.
