Abstract
Aim: To estimate the efficiency of fosfomycintromethamol in the treatment of urinary tract infections. Material-methods: A prospective open trial with fosfomycin tromethamol in single dose of 3 g in 40 consecutive patients with different forms of urinary tract infections was carried out. The clinical and bacterological work-out was performed at the recruting of the cases and 2 and 4 weeks after the therapy. Results: The efficiency of the therapy with fosfomycin-tromethamol was 92% at 2 weeks and 87% at 4 weeks. Conclusion: The therapy with fosfomycin tromethamol is highly efficient in the therapy of urinary tract infections, having a broad spectrum and a convenient administration.
