Abstract
The effect of the physical training upon ST-segment with the hypertensive patients trated with Prestarium
The purpose of this study is the appreciation of the physical training effect upon St-segment with a group of patients (34 patients of both sexes, 23 males and 11 females), suffering of arterial hypertension which are treated with Prestarium (Perindopril). These patients presented ischemic changes in rest ECG, effort ECG and in Holter monitoring. The patients suffered an intense physical training during 8 weeks (there have been used cycloergometer, treadmill, fast gait). Before and after the training, there have been measured rest ECG, maximal effort ECG limited by symptoms, Holter monitoring. There have been also measured: heart rate, systolic and diastolic blood pressure. At the end of the study, there have been established a reduction of ST-segment, from 3 to 2 mm, from 2 to 1 mm and also a reduction of the ischemic duration (appreciated at Holter monitoring), but with patients who suffered ischemic changes in rest or effort ECG was found a reduction of ST-segment, a reduction of the frequency of ischemic episodes, and an increasing of their effort capacity. In conclusion, we may say that physical rehabilitation is beneficial for patients with ischemic cardiopathy, leading to a limitation of psysiopathological and psychological effects of cardiac disease, to a control of cardiac symptoms, but also to an improvement of the ECG aspects with these patients.
