Abstract

Tuberous Sclerosis (TS) represents one of the most frequently diagnosed neurocutaneous syndromes. It is a multisystemic disease, but the neurological and the cutaneous are usually prominent. Neurological manifestations are responsible for an important part of morbidity and mortality associated with TS and they include: epilepsy, mental retardation, psychical and behavioral disturbance, cerebral tumors, strokes. TS cannot be prevented, neither cured. The attention will be focused on pharmacological therapy, psychosocial support and much less on surgical procedures.
