Abstract
White-Bland-Garland syndrome is a rare congenital malformation, means pulmonary artery origin for the left coronary artery. On the base of 9 patients who have reached the adult form and an advanced study of literature we are demonstrating the important role of Doppler echocardiography in early accessible diagnosis of this clinically not very noisy coronary disease (in adult form), but carrying the risk of sudden death. Apart from the excellent morphologic informations about the coronary arteries and the extensive and dilated coronary anastomosis network (almost with the same accuracy like coronarography), Doppler echocardiography is able to asses precious rheologic data especially about the left coronary to pulmonary artery shunt, indispensable for fixing the moment and the technique of surgical therapy.
