Abstract

Hepatic encephalopathy is a complex sindrom appeared on the found of hepatic function capacity reduction and developmentof portal hypertension. The diagnostic is made by excluding the toxic, metabolic encephalopathies, intracranian injury and neuropsychological sufferings. The H.E. treatment points the synthesis and ammonia absorbtion decrease by lowering the proteic diet apport and change the intestinal environment (non-absorbed disacharides, antibiotherapie, colonization with non-ureazic bacterium) . The increa se of the ammonia tisular metabolisation, the lower of fasies neuromediatores and GABA-benzodiazepines receptors inhibition are therapeutical ways with limited value or controversial. The orthotopical hepatic transplant represent the finale treatment stage.
