Abstract

Taurine (2-aminoethane sulfonic acid) is a conditionally sential nutrient. Its synthesis in humans is from thesees two amino acids, primarily in the liver with assistance of vitamin 86 (pyridoxal-5’ phosphate). Taurine, either directly or indirectly, is able to exert either a proven or highly prob­ able role in a number of diverse conditions that affect nearly every major organ or body system and is responsible for a wide variety of critical body processes.
