Abstract

The present paper’s aim is to study the efficacy of otilonium bromide used to prepare patients for digestive endoscopy. We followed up the drug’s effect on the pain accused by the patients during the handling of the endoscope as well as on the discomfort caused by the lumen’s distension after insufflation and on the endoscopist’s comfort. To prove the effect we used a score scaled one to five. There was a significant improvement of the conditions under which the endoscopy was performed, observed both in the patient and in the investigator.
