Abstract
This issue has as its aim the determination of the nutritional necessities and the establishment of the recommendations for the infant, a difficult problem which a lot of expert committees has dealt with for over 20 years. During this period the concepts, definitions and recommendations have evolved and will probably evolve in the following years. The issue presents concepts such as: share recommendation, share of reference, share concerning the proteic and energetic contribution of unsaturated fatty acids, of fluids, of mineral salts, of oligoelements and vitamines.
