Abstract
135 anaerobic strains (11 sporeforming – 8,14% and 124 nonsporeforming – 91,86%) were tested for antibiotic susceptibility. The strains were isolated from abdominal, respiratory tract, skin and urogenital infections and from hemocultures. The antimicrobial agents studied were piperacillin, piperacillin – tazobactam, cefotaxim, meropenem and metronidazole. The antibiotic susceptibility was determined using Etest. The anaerobic strains studied here were most susceptible to piperacillin – tazobactam and meropenem (97,77%). The strains resistant to piperacillin and cefotaxim were most frequent from Bacteroides spp, and the resistance to metronidazole is present to Propionibacterium and aerotolerant streptococci.
