Abstract
Alopecia areata is a specific autoimmune disease of the organ and its treatment often used is local and systemic corticotherapy, immunotherapy e.g. photochemotherapy or non specific irritants e.g. dithranol. The therapeutic plan must be spec ifically adapted to the patient. Their reversible cases may have a genetic determination (HLA Dw 52a) or are associated with severe debilitating afections e.g. calcitriol resistent-rickets.
