Abstract
Streptococcus pyogenes is one of the most common human pathogens. It can causes a wide clinical spectrum of infections that ranges from localized impetigo to deeply invasive necrotizing fasciitis with associated toxic shock. The early signs of invasive streptococcal infections must recognized because of rapidity with they progress and their potential for fatal outcome. The evolution of life-threatening streptococcal infections underlies on the complex interplay between strain virulence and host response; understanding it better may lead to more efficacious forms of therapy.
