Abstract
The Lemierre Syndrome – a often forgotten clinical situation. Diagnose and therapeutical aspects Lemierre syndrome is classical an illness characterized by the development of an anaerobic sistemic infection (especially with F. necrophorum) with septic trombophle bitis and multiple metastatic foci following an attack of acute tonsillitis. Although now rarely seen and often forgot ten, it remains a potentially life-threatening condition. Clas sical picture tends to vary in terms of primary septic focus, secondary foci, etiology. Apropriate therapy improve prog nosis: penicilin G + metronidazol (or clindamycin), anti coagulants and only in few cases excision of septic foci.
