Abstract

Oropharyngeal cancer is a common malignancy which includes a wide variety of histopathologic tumors. Unfortunately it affects not only the elderly population, but also young patients, its incidence rising alarmingly in the last decade. The gold standard for the treatment of ororpharyngeal cancer is the multidisciplinary approach. The authors present a literature review of the current therapeutic regimens, with an emphasis on the surgical techniques.
